Membership of the Foundation for Community Dance is open to all that support, engage with or have an interest in community and participatory dance.
Our four membership options offer brilliant
benefits for those who join. Each membership scheme is designed to
include access to services depending on your level of engagement with
dance. See below for full details.
Joining Online
Once you have chosen your type of membership, you can join the Foundation for Community Dance online! It's quick and easy to do, just follow the link below where you can create your membership record and make a payment using a credit or debit card, giving you access to many of the benefits of membership. about Professional Individual Membership including Civil Liability Insurance protection
Please note that cover will commence once a successful
payment is made. We aim to send your certificate of cover and policy wording including
membership confirmation as soon as possible. However, if you urgently
require confirmation of your membership and insurance, please note that you must give us at least 2 days for us to process this request. You may use your receipt of purchase
if you have paid online, or contact us directly for further assistance.
Want to renew an existing membership?
Professional Individual members wishing to renew from 1 August 2010, please call us at our offices on 0116 253 3453 between 10am - 6pm. All other members - It's possible to renew quickly, easily and securely online - or alternatively call us on +44(0)116 253 3453 (10am - 6pm UK time, Monday - Friday) to renew your membership over the telephone.
Professional Membership
NEW & IMPROVED
From April 1 2010, Professional Individual Membership will include Civil Liability protection, giving Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance cover of up to £10 million, plus legal expenses protection.
Professional Individual Membership and Professional Organisation Membership is open to all individuals and organisations in the UK involved in community and participatory dance at a professional level. This scheme is designed for dance artists, dance teachers, dance organisations, dance companies, and arts organisations that provide community and participatory dance - either as a main focus or as part of a broader portfolio of work in dance/the arts. If you are a 'sole trader' wishing to take out Professional Organisation Membership for your company/organisation but also wish to have access to Civil Liability Protection for yourself as an individual, please contact us directly for information and fees. Associate Membership
Open to all that support, engage with or have an interest in community and participatory dance, and/or the values of the Foundation for Community Dance. it is designed for individuals and organisations in the UK working in the arts, lifelong learning, health and wellbeing, sport, voluntary, community and public sectors. It is suitable for those that wish to engage with FCD and the community dance network, demonstrate active support and access the benefits of membership more informally than through the professional membership scheme. Open to all students of
dance, and all organisations involved in dance education and training
at any level, either as a main focus of study or as part of a broader

benefits. Costs: Students, £17.50; HE/FE Institutions, £125; Library Subscriptions and Schools, £45 annually.
Open to all indivduals and organisations outside of the UK involved in community and participatory dance at a professional level, as a student or as a Higher or Further Education Institution.
